Ruling party members rejected the demand to allow Leader of the Opposition Jaswant Singh to speak.
They told Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat that no notice for suspension of Question Hour was given and, hence, they would not allow Jaswant Singh to speak.
Shekhawat said if the stalemate could end by allowing Singh as well as some ruling party members to speak, he could consider the suggestion of the Opposition.
Congress members were on their feet when BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu said the ruling party members staged a sit-in in front of Gandhi statute in Parliament as democracy was being "murdered" in Jharkhand.
Amidst slogan shouting, Shekhawat adjourned the House till 12.30 pm, 20 minutes after it met for the day.
