Rural drinking water project for Maharashtra

A Rs.1343 crore rural drinking water supply project has been negotiated with the World Bank for Maharashtra.

A Rs.1343 crore rural drinking water supply project has been negotiated with the World Bank for Maharashtra.

The project aims at covering 2,800 village panchayats in 26 districts and will benefit 75 lakh population, an official release said here today.

It is based on the Swajaldhara reform principles -- empowering village panchayats and communities to plan, implement and manage drinking water and sanitation schemes of their choice.
