In a letter to the Observer, copies of which were circulated to the media, Bhatia alleged that there had been "wrong display and publication of election symbol on the website of the Election Commission".

"I was allotted the symbol `Kite' but in the official website of EC, the symbol has been shown against another candidate while mine has been stated as `batsman'. Also the serial number is incorrectly displayed", he alleged.

Bhatia said "this sabotage is fatal to fair election. Kindly halt the election process and inform the EC to order fresh elections."
