In a letter to Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof V G Talwar, Tendulkar's wife Anjali Tendulkar thanked him for proposing to honour her husband with an honorary doctorate degree but said the champion batsman has decided not to accept honorary doctorates while being active in cricket.
"It is a great honour to be appreciated for his contributions in the field of cricket. Unfortunately, he has made a decision not to accept any honorary doctorate while he is still active playing for India," she said.
