Sachin not to run in Olympic torch relay

According to sources, the master blaster does not want to aggravate his groin injury by running in the relay.

India's cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar on Wednesday declined to run in the Olympic torch relay to be held in the Capital on Thursday.

The reason behind Sachin's refusal to take part in the relay is still not known but according to sources in the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), the batsmen didn't want to aggravate his groin injury by running in the race and scupper his chances to take part in the Indian Premier League (IPL) starting on Friday.

Sachin's decision is a big setback for the IOA, which is scheduled to announce the final list of runners later Wednesday.
