A sadhu was on Friday found dead in a pit where he was meditating for the past 21 days.
Ranjit Misra alias Lal Baba, belonging to Amethi, had been living in a temple near Chilbila railway crossing for the past five years.
The sadhu had taken 'samadhi' in the closed pit on January 25 and was to come out today, official sources said.
A large number of his followers, officials and a team of doctors were present when the pit was opened but the Sadhu found dead.
He had earlier too observed similar samadhi for five and seven days, they added.
