The samples, taken during the post mortem at AIIMS, have been sent for tests, including chemical toxicology, pathology poison and microbiology food poisoning, sources in the hospital said.

They said the tests were part of visra-analysis, which will help doctors establish the cause of his death.

Moitra, along with Mahajan's son Rahul, was taken to Apollo hospital in an unconscious state in the wee hours where he was declared brought dead.

His body was later shifted to AIIMS for autopsy.

Hospital sources also said his embalmed body, which has been kept in the mortuary, will be handed over to police on Saturday in case his family members failed to receive it.

"We have received a fax from the family stating that they would not be able to take it today," the sources added.

Meanwhile, BJP leader and Pramod Mahajan's brother-in-law Gopinath Munde said the cremation of Moitra will take place in Mumbai.

"I have spoken to his parents and it has been decided that the cremation will take place in Mumbai," he said after visiting his nephew Rahul Mahajan in Apollo hospital.
