IMlogic Inc. has appointed Sanjiv Gossain as its chief technology officer.

IMlogic Inc., a provider of enterprise infrastructure software solutions for the instant messaging (IM) market, has appointed Sanjiv Gossain as its chief technology officer.

Gossain, whom the company calls an "industry visionary", will lead all technology and product strategy efforts, reporting to IMlogic president and CEO Francis deSouza.

DeSouza said Massachusetts-based IMlogic's customers "will appreciate his (Gossain's) passion for real-time technologies as well as his track record of delivering mission critical solutions across a number of industries, from financial services to high tech manufacturing.

"In addition, his leadership and vision will make a significant impact on the enterprise messaging industry."

Gossain's work in IT application development is recognised in the industry. He has over 45 published articles and has spoken at IT and business conferences across the world.

He was previously CTO at NerveWire, an integrated management consulting and systems integration firm. Prior to that Gossain was CTO of Cambridge Technology Partners, where he was credited with providing wide-ranging strategic guidance on business and technology for world business leaders in Global 1000 companies.

"IMlogic's immediate customer acceptance has quickly made it the recognised market and technology leader in the rapidly growing enterprise instant messaging space," Gossain maintained.

Gossain has a Ph.D. in electronic systems engineering, a masters of science in telecommunications and information systems, and a bachelors degree in electronic engineering, all from the University of Essex, England.

IMlogic Inc. has been delivering enterprise-class infrastructure software that helps companies control and leverage the use of instant messaging (IM), which according to it, is the world's fastest growing communications medium.

The company is backed by Venrock Associates, General Catalyst Partners, Kodiak Venture Partners, and Goldman Sachs.
