Teacher’s Day commemorates the special relationship that a student and teacher share. It is a day when students will don the mantle of teachers. And there will be roses and cards to add to the festivity of the occasion and make the teacher feel special.
“Our Class XII students will take classes and our head girl will be the principal for the day. There will be a special assembly as a tribute to teachers and also some cultural programmes for the teachers,” said Cynthia Manoharan, principal, St Thomas School. “We script special plays and dance numbers for the day,” said a student Vaibhav Nath of the DAV Public School.
“This is one day when you can play a prank and yet not get scolded.” At Amity International School, Saket, students will present a cultural programme for teachers. “We have also invited Prof. Anil Wilson, principal, St Stephen’s College, to address the teachers,” informs principal Bharati Sharma. Many schools will host a lavish spread for the teachers and while others will take teachers for a movie or a picnic. “This is a day when we feel special and grateful towards our noble profession,” said Rakesh Verma, a government school teacher.
