"We have decided to defer the proposed indefinite strike," All India State Bank Officers' Federation, General Secretary, GD Nadaf told PTI in Mumbai.

The employees had called for the strike to press their demands on various matters which included their opposition to the merger of State Bank's associates with the parent SBI.

Their other demands included improvements in pension scheme, implementation of various understandings reached with the SBI management over the past few years, termination of contract jobs in the bank and immediate recruitments in the class IV cadre.
