The Gujarat government filed the chargesheet on Monday in a court in Ahmedabad.

A Bench comprising Justice Tarun Chatterjee and PK Balasubramanyan posted the next hearing on the matter for July 24.

Gujarat Government also placed before the court a fresh action taken report on the investigation of the case.

Subramaniyam, during the hearing, raised serious objection to the manner in which the investigation was conducted.

Senior Advocate KTS Tulsi, appearing for Gujarat Government, alleged that the Centre wanted to make this matter an election issue.

He said that there was difficulty in supplying the copy of the chargesheet as the prosecution did not want to reveal the identity of the crucial witnesses.
