A three judge bench headed by Chief Justice YK Sabharwal passed the order on a petition filed by Amar Singh complaining about illegal tapping of his telephone and the circulation of the contents among media organisations.

The bench made it clear that the media would not make them public until the matter is heard in the court and a decision is taken.

Copies of the tape titled Amar Singh ki Amar Kahani were leaked to various media organisations last week.

They are believed to contain his conversations with Mulayam Singh Yadav and various Bollywood actresses.

Amar Singh had asked the media organisations not to make the contents public and to hand over the tapes to the Supreme Court.
