Presiding over the dharna, student leader Sharvan Kumar Nirala flayed university officials for not implementing reservation in registration of research scholar in various departments.
He also said that excess fee was being charged from SC/ST students. Delivering his views on this occasion, Rajkumar Rai said illicit liquor trader was flourishing in various villages in connivance with police personnel. He demanded stringent action against the liquor mafia. He alleged that district officials were not paying attention to the demands of SC/ST members to destroy liquor shop in villages.
Manoj Kumar, Ram Kumar Rao, Ram Pravesh, Vijay Prakash and others said that SC families would stage demonstration on September 22 at the district headquarters to express their anger against Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, who, they alleged, was following anti-SC policies.
Student also staged a dharna at the vice-chancellor’s office demanding increase in seats in postgraduate classes.
