The appplication filed by the Urban Affairs Ministry was mentioned before a Bench headed by Chief Justice YK Sabharwal.
In the application, the government has sought modification of the September 29 order as the apex court has prohibited the government from issuing any further notifications on the issue.
The Urban Development Ministry, in its application, also requested that the Supreme Court dispense with the requirement for traders to file affidavits as covered under the controversial September 7 notification allowing commercial activity in residential areas.
