Declaring that the cause of the death was “cold-blooded murder, and not suicide”, Ram Singh and his brother’s counsel VK Anand said, “If the jail authorities cannot protect them inside the jail, they should be released on bail.”

AP Singh, counsel for the other two accused, Vinay Sharma and Akshay Singh, claimed: “They (his clients) are facing regular sexual and physical assault. If my clients stay inside the jail, their lives will soon to come to an end.”

“I would move to the Supreme Court to shift the trial outside the national capital region,” Anand said.
