“This is a violation of high court guidelines on school vehicles. If there was any technical snag in the van, the driver should have sought help from the school authority,” said Bharti Arora, DCP (traffic), Gurgaon police. The van was hired by Children’s Paradise Preparatory School, which is located in New Colony.

Meanwhile, the school authority claimed that the van did not belong to them anymore. “It was hired by us on contract basis, but after this incident we have disassociated ourselves from the operator,” said SN Nayar, caretaker of Children’s Paradise Preparatory School.
