SEBI team starts questioning former Satyam CFO

A team of market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India today started questioning former Satyam Computer Chief Financial Officer Vadlamani Srinivas at the Chanchalguda central jail in Hyderabad, upon being permitted to do so by a local court.

A team of market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) today started questioning former Satyam Computer Chief Financial Officer Vadlamani Srinivas at the Chanchalguda central jail in Hyderabad, upon being permitted to do so by a local court.

The SEBI team reached the jail in the morning and began interrogating Vadlamani in connection with the Rs 7,800 crore accounting fraud at the IT firm.

On Thursday, a five-member team, two officers from Mumbai and three from Chennai, interrogated and recorded the statements of PW’s S Gopalakrishnan and Talluri Srinivas.

The 6th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on February 18 allowed the market regulator to question Gopalakrishnan, Talluri Srinivas and Vadlamani Srinivas.

Earlier, on the direction of the Supreme Court, the market watchdog interrogated and recorded the statements of the company’s founder B Ramalinga Raju and his brother Rama Raju for three days from February 4.
