According to official sources, adequate security arrangements have been made at important temples, including Hanumangarhi, Kanak Bhawan and Nageshwar Nath and strict vigil was being maintained at Ayodhya railway station in view of the threat perceptions.

Intensive checking of vehicle was being conducted at entry points near Saket Post-Graduate College, Vidyakund and Bandha Tiraha on national highway.

It may be recalled that five terrorists were gunned down by security forces when they attempted to storm into the makeshift temple in Ayodhya in July, 2005.

The sources said that no vehicle was being allowed to go inside acquired land and the VIP route had been closed.

Pilgrims were being allowed entry in the acquired land in small batches, they said.
