Several former People's Democratic Party (PDP) leaders, including a member of the Legislative Council, have joined arch rivals National Conference.

Bilal Lodhi, a former militant, who was elected to the Legislative Council on a PDP ticket, and Nazir Hussain Khan were among the others who joined National Conference at the residence of the party patron Farooq Abdullah on Sunday evening.

Both Lodhi and Khan had fallen out with PDP leadership earlier this year and parted ways with the party. Five leaders from Baramulla district, including several councillors, also joined National Conference.
