"The issue of female foeticide is one of concern for us. Now, we have invited Shabana Azmi and (Patiala MP) Preneet Kaur to educate the masses on foeticide," state Finance Minister Surinder Singla told reporters here today.
As the state faced an adverse sex ratio, he said the Government had set up an Advisory Commitee aimed at arresting the problem of female foeticide and Azmi was a member of the Committee.
"We believe the problem will linger on as long as the mindset of the people (towards girl child) does not change. Policies and legislations alone can't tackle this issue," he said.
