Joining the likes of weightlifters such as Szymon Kolecki and Caroline Pileggi is the former world champion Shang Shichun who was also not included in the Olympic squad for taking banned substance.

The China Weightlifting Association has announced a two-year suspension on her for taking performance-enhancing drugs in last year's World Weightlifting Championship. In the same competition Shang broke three world records in the women's 75-kg division. But her medals were stripped off after she failed in the drugs test.
