It would be ‘breathless’ campaign for the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) in the forthcoming municipal council elections.

The singer of ‘Breathless’ album Shankar Mahadevan is been assigned the job of singing songs for the cassette that MNS is preparing for the campaigning of the civic polls scheduled on February 1.

Shweta Parulkar, general secretary of the MNS said, "The content of the cassette is philosophy of the party." She further added, that since party has not been assigned any specific symbol, the cassettes would have party flag and Raj Thackeray’s poster on its cover.

With Thackeray involved in preparation of the cassette one would have expected conetent in Marathi. Ironically songs are sung in Hindi language.

"Rajshaeb is personally taking interest in preparation of the cassette and main focus is to attract youth and common man towards the party," Parulkar further pointed.

Interestingly, MNS is too following footsteps of Shiv Sena. Few days back Sena Chief Bal Thackeray had inaugurated audio-visual cassettes composed in Marathi, by prominent remix singer Avadhoot Gupte.

Sena in its cassette has criticised those who had deserted the party leveling allegations against party executive president Uddhav Thackeray.

However, the cassette that is being prepared for the campaigning of MNS has no such content of criticism, insisted Parulkar.

It was Raj Thackeray then with Sena who had stressed on going with such hi-tech audio-video campaigning for the 1990 and 1995 Assembly elections and 1996 and 1998 Lok Sabha polls. Now this Thackeray senior’s rebel nephew Raj is trying this formula for his own party.
