CPI(M) candidate from Anantnag-Pulwama parliamentary constituency Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami on Tuesday demanded immediate shifting of polling staff in Noorabad assembly segment to ensure free and fair elections in the constituency going to poll tomorrow.

"Noorabad assembly segment being represented by Agriculture Minister Abdul Aziz Zargar has been allowed to depute polling staff from district Baramulla from the Agriculture Department to influence the voters," Tarigami, the party state secretary, said in a complaint to the state chief electoral officer.

This is deliberate attempt to hoodwink electorate, he said and demanded immediate action including shifting of the poll staff from the assembly segment.
