State president for Primary Education Shiksha Mitra Sangh Ghazi Imam Aala demanded that Shiksha Mitra in Uttar Pradesh should be provided facilities and stipend as per that provided to the their collragues by the Rajasthan government.
He claimed that Shiksha Mitra had become inevitable for primary education in the state but they were subjected to neglect and apathy by the state government.
Talking to mediapersons, district president of the association Ajay Kumar said the Rajasthan government was providing Rs 6,845 per month to Shiksha Mitra, besides the house rent and dearness allowance (DA) but in Uttar Pradesh there was no service rule for Shiksha Mitra and their annual renewal was a tedious job due to local politics in the villages.
Responding to a question, they said that after a meeting with Chief Secretary R Ramani on November 28, the state government had virtually agreed to regularise the services of Shiksha Mitra but the plan was yet to take shape.
They said the state government had agree to allow 14 days’ casual leave to the Shiksha Mitra but even after four months, there was no initiative in this direction.
The president of Adarsh Shiksha Mitra Welfare Association Ramesh Mani Tripathi also extended support to the proposed demonstration. He said Shiksha Mitra from various districts of the state would assemble at Laxman Mela Park and from there they would head towards the Vidhan Bhawan .
