Shivnekar wins photo contest

INDORE PHOTOGRAPHERS Rajesh Shivnekar and Akhil Hardia have won first and second prize of the ‘Samay Jharoka’ photography competition – 2006 while Prakash Hatvalne of Bhopal bagged the third prize.
The firsts and second prizewinners will get Rs 21,000 each. For the third prize winner of the prize money is Rs 11,000. The photography competition focusing on lives of tribals was organised by Vanya Prakashan. A panel comprising senior photographer Vinod Bharadwaj, Rahit Suri (New Delhi), Dainik Bhaskar editor Abhilash Khandekar, photographer Sudhir Saxena adjudged the best photographs.
There were 200 entries and 76 photographers for the competition. Photographers from Delhi and Ahmedabad had also sent their entries to the competition. On the second year of the competition there were some special prizes of Rs 2501 each to be given to Satish Kalra, Akshay Jain, Bharti Sarvate and Ajay Jaiswal.
