Amid chants of ‘Har Har Mahadev’, the religious procession started from Rajendra Prasad Ghat and concluded at the ancient Kashi Vishwanath temple where devotees offered Jalabhishekh on the Shivlinga.

Devotees including women and kids carried Kalash and uttered religious chants.

Five boys in the guise of the Pandava brothers, Yudhishthir, Arjun, Bhim, Nakul and Sahdeo were the centre of attraction in the kalash yatra. They were carrying the holy water of the five rivers including Alaknanada, Mandakini, Gangotri, Yamunotri and Brahmaputra in copper pots. A silver statue of Lord Ganesha with a golden kamandal (pot) and a live Nandi led the procession.

The tribals of Sonebhadra district rendered traditional musical during the yatra.
