MADHYA PRADESH is rich with varied and abundant wealth of nature and the State Government should make serious efforts to provide facilities for shooting films in the State, noted screenplay and dialogue writer Rumi Jaffery ha
“This will increase the tourism potential of the State,” he told the press.

Jaffery hails from Bhopal and has written scripts for Bollywood blockbusters like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Chalte-Chalte, Om Jai Jagdish and Jodi No 1.

He has written stories for a large number of David Dhawan films with Govinda as the main cast. After carving a niche in the field of story and dialogue-writing, Jaffery ventured into the field of direction. ‘God Tussi Great Ho’ directed by him is almost 70 percent complete with Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan in the lead. With Amitabh unwell and Salman with the court verdict, the film would not be released before 2007.

“I am proud to hail from Bhopal. When I started living in Mumbai in 1991, no one would take me seriously and so initially I took up theatre. Simultaneously, I would discuss my stories with film directors”.

Filmmaking has become a very complex task and it is improper to say that the sustainability of films has plummeted. “Good films and bad films have always co-existed”, Jaffery opined.
