Show compassion towards the poor and the needy

With reference to the editorial Leaving them out in the cold (Our Take, January 9), instead of demolishing night shelters and rendering people homeless, the Delhi government should provide them with better facilities.

With reference to the editorial Leaving them out in the cold (Our Take, January 9), instead of demolishing night shelters and rendering people homeless, the Delhi government should provide them with better facilities. While it’s true that migration to Delhi has increased substantially over the last five years, the Sheila Dikshit government cannot use it as an excuse to tear down houses under the guise of beautifying Delhi. The chief minister should be compassionate towards the needs of the poor, for they also contribute towards the state’s development.
