Six NLFT insurgents surrender in Tripura

Six insurgents of banned National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) have surrendered to Border Security Force (BSF) at Khasiamangal in West Tripura district, the police said today.

Six insurgents of banned National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) have surrendered to Border Security Force (BSF) at Khasiamangal in West Tripura district, the police said on Tuesday.

The ultras surrendered to BSF DIG, A Garg on Monday without carrying any arms or ammunition.

The surrendered extremists were identified as Dayaram Tripura (24), Mrityunjoy Tripura (23), Biswa Sadhan Jamatia (25), Latirai Reang (20), Shibjoy Reang (22) and Billajoy Tripura (25).

They were working in the outfit since last ten years. The ultras told BSF that many insurgents were waiting for opportunities to surrender as food crisis and paucity of funds gripped the inmates of the camps located in Bangladesh.
