Six people killed in Baghdad blast

Eight others were wounded when a roadside bomb went off in Baghdad's western Amriya district.

A roadside bomb killed six people and wounded eight in Baghdad's western Amriya district on Thursday, police and hospital officials said.

Another police source said two had been killed, one of them a child, and seven wounded.

He said the target of the bomb had been an Iraqi army patrol. No soldiers were among the casualties.
