Six pilgrims killed in Bihar road mishap

Six pilgrims, including five women, were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and an autorickshaw.

Six pilgrims, including five women, were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and an auto-rickshaw in Madhepura, police said on Saturday.

The mishap occurred close to the gates of BN Mandal University around Friday midnight when the pilgrims were returning in the auto after performing prayers on the occasion of Mahashivratri at Singheshwarsthan Shiva temple, about seven kms from Madhepura.

So great was the impact that the auto-rickshaw was torn asunder killing five women on the spot. Another person died on way to hospital.

The driver has been rushed to Patna medical college and hospital.
