People in the high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday continued to shiver under cold conditions due to heavy snowfalls.
According to reports, heavy snowfalls lashed Lahaul & Spiti with the district headquarters of Keylong receiving 6-7 inches of snow deposit.
Fresh snowfall was also reported from Jalsu pass and Kugti pass in Bharmour valley and Chamba, however it was more intense in areas near Rohtang Pass. Kalpa in Kinnaur recorded 1.6 cm snowfall while temperature here was minus 1.8 degrees Celsius.
Keylong recorded the lowest temperature in the state at minus 6.7 degrees.
Capital Shimla witnessed an overcast condition as was the famous tourist destination of Manali.
There was slight fall in mercury in the capital which was recorded at 7.1 degrees.
