A 26-year-old soldier of the Indian Army committed suicide for unspecified reasons in Jammu on Wednesday.

Lance Naik LP Sahu of 41 Field Regiment deployed in Kaluchak, on the outskirts of this winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir, was found to have hanged himself from a ceiling fan in his barrack, a defence spokesman said.

"A court of inquiry has been instituted," the spokesman said.
