Sonepat cop dies in road mishap

A subinspector of police (SP) died in a road accident in Sonepat after a car hit his motorcycle at Beeswan Meel chowk on the national highway-1 on Friday night. The deceased has been identified as Ved Parkash, posted at the Rai police post.

He was returning to his village Patla of the district when the accident occurred. After hitting the motorcycle, the car veered off the road and hit a tree. The driver of the vehicle fled the spot. The police have sent the victim's body for post-mortem examination, seized the car and registered a case against its owner.
