In a last bid to save Karnataka going the BJP way, the Congress on Saturday gave signals of possible talks between Sonia Gandhi and JD(S) supremo HD Deve Gowda after the plenary session to resolve the crisis in the Dharam Singh government.

The absence of Uttaranchal Chief Minister ND Tiwari and Himachal Chief Minister VB Singh made it evident that all was not well in the party ahead of the plenary session.

While AICC General Secretary Ambika Soni sought to downplay their absence, Tiwari is known to be upset over his not being included in the CWC. Also, he does not seem to be not too happy with the way the party is being run.
