Sonia has disrespected Vajpayee: Uma

The MP CM said that by asking Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to name his "heir", Cong chief Sonia Gandhi has "disrespected" him and the country.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti on Friday said that by asking Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to name his "heir", Congress President Sonia Gandhi has "disrespected" him and the country.

Addressing an election meeting here in support of Union Minister and BJP candidate Sumitra Mahajan, she said "Sonia, by doing so, has disrespected the Prime Minister and also the country".

"Normally the question of heir is asked in a kingdom or from a person who is on death bed," she said.

On foreign origin, Bharti said BJP would ensure that only a person born of an Indian mother can occupy the prime minister's post.
