Indications to this effect were available after central observers for Haryana submitted their report to party chief Sonia Gandhi.
A decision on the next Haryana Chief Minister is likely by Thursday.

Indications to this effect were available on Wednesday evening after the three central observers of Congress for Haryana submitted their report to party chief Sonia Gandhi.
"We met Gandhi this evening and submitted our report to her. There is only one report by us," ICC general secretary incharge of the state Janardan Dwiwedi said after he and senior party leaders PM Sayeed and Ashok Gehlot met Gandhi.
Asked when the name of the next chief minister would be known, he said "very soon".
The 67-MLA strong Congress Legislature Party of Haryana met at Chandigarh on Tuesday and had authorised Gandhi to take a decision with regard to naming a CLP leader.
The three leaders ascertained the views of party MLAs individually on whom they prefer as the next chief minister in the state and their opinion was reported to Gandhi for taking a final decision.

Others in the fray include senior party leaders BS Hooda, MP, Union Minister of state Kumari Selja, Workng PCC chief Randeep Surjewala and his father former PCC chief SS Surjewala, former PCC chief Birender Singh, party MLA and industrialist OP Jindal.
