Sopore resident's body recovered

The body of a missing man was recovered on Sunday from a canal in north Kashmir's Sopore area. The police identified the victim as Umar Ishaq Mir, son of Mohammad Ishaq, a resident of Nowpora Tujar, Baramulla district. "The body was recovered from Nallah Tujar present in the jurisdiction of the Bomai Sopore this morning," said Srinagar-based spokesman.

The police identified the victim as Umar Ishaq Mir, son of Mohammad Ishaq, a resident of Nowpora Tujar, Baramulla district. "The body was recovered from Nallah Tujar present in the jurisdiction of the Bomai Sopore this morning," said Srinagar-based spokesman.

Quoting the victim's father, the police said Mir went missing on Saturday evening.

The police's preliminary examination revealed that it had a small scratch on the head.

"Some empty syringe and pain killer injections have been found near the body," said the spokesman.

The police said an investigation is on in the case.
