The party has organised a meeting to ensure the proposed dharna and demonstration on December 31. Meanwhile, district president Chandrabali convened a meeting of party leaders at district party office and appealed them to sink the difference to save the pride of the party in zila panchayat chairman election. It is said that Chinta Yadav, who has recently joined SP after deserting BSP would be the SP candidate in the election and party leaders have given their consent over the candidature.

A meeting of likeminded people was convened at Gorakhnath temple to select a common candidate of other political parties and organisation to give a nail biting fight to the SP candidates.

Sources claimed that a sitting MLA of SP, a former MLA of SP who are at present in BSP and district unit president of a national party were also participated in the meeting convened and chaired by BJP MP Yogi Adityanath.

Sources claimed that they have decided to file independent candidate Yashoda Devi against the possible SP candidates.

Sources said that the rival group of SP has decided to contest the election in guidance of BJP MP Adityanath and the process to generate a consensus on name of Kaushalya Devi has been started. It may be noted that BJP is totally depended on Adityanath in this election and Congress party is not in position to field its own candidates. BSP has yet not finalised its strategy.

District Congress president TP Shahi said the party had not extended support to any candidate in ZP election. In reply to a query regarding his presence in the meeting convened by Adityanath, Shahi said he was in temple for his routine work..
