?Spandan? sets pulses racing at MNNIT

THE NATIONAL cultural fest of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT)? Culrav-2006 which began on Monday blossomed with enlivening performances in events like Hindi debate, duet dance and western solo on Tuesday. Day two of the fest saw exhilarating performances in Hindi debate. The student of BTech -II year out- smarted others with their word power. Pritam Dutta and Manoj Sharma of MMS-I year and Manoj Sharma were adjudged as I, IInd and IIIrd in the event.

THE NATIONAL cultural fest of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT)— Culrav-2006 which began on Monday blossomed with enlivening performances in events like Hindi debate, duet dance and western solo on Tuesday.

Day two of the fest saw exhilarating performances in Hindi debate. The student of BTech -II year out- smarted others with their word power. Pritam Dutta and Manoj Sharma of MMS-I year and Manoj Sharma were adjudged as I, IInd and IIIrd in the event.In duet dance, the title of the best dancer was clinched by Sapan Saxena and Sumit Sanuja for their performance on dance number Friends through times .

The students of Computer Science and Production Engineering Aseem Bansal and Chimman Chakrvarty bagged the second prize.Events like wild thoughts, Motley, western solo singing and password were enthusiastically attended by the techno-students. The western solo was won by Abhishek Das.

The evening was charged with fervour of final years students who presented a grand show including dance, songs and mimicry.

Earlier, the main attraction the fashion show- Spandan was held on Monday night. The show was marked by nail biting finish among the students who received thunderous applause from the audience.

Harsh Bhardwaj and Haasiva Chaudhary were declared best male and female models respectively. The fashion show was sponsored by the State Bank of India.

The closing ceremony of the event will take place at MP Hall complex. District Magistrate of Allahabad Amrit Abhijaat and Regional Manager of SBI JK Kansal, will be chief guest and the special guest on the occasion.

The English Literary events at Culrav-2006 are aimed at boosting and cultivating the literary flair and communication skills of the students. The motto of this consortium of events was Learning Through Interaction.

The events were flagged off with the coveted English debate, which was held on Day 1. The topic for the debate was “The Indo-US Nuclear Deal Carries a Potential Threat to India’s Sovereignty and Independence”.
