The Delhi government has called a special assembly session on March 21 to approve a vote-on-account.

As the municipal elections have been announced to be held on April 15, the Delhi government cannot approve its budget for the financial year due to the model code of conduct coming in to effect.

But to ensure smooth functioning of government and to pay all expenses, the government will set aside a lump-sum amount to be used till a proper budget can be presented.
