Spoil yourself this summer
Are you afraid of summers? Deepti Kaul tells you how to treat yourself in hot weather...
Your friends call you up for a day out and cowardly you say no. Come summers and women get conscious about skin due to the scorching heat. After all who wants to look dark and who needs unwanted tan?

These worries keep us occupied most of the time. So, why worry and have wrinkle when you can smile and have dimples. We are here to keep you updated on skin care during the summer.
The first thing that all skin specialists and make-up artists suggest is that one should drink lots of water.
Water works as a primary beauty aid. As our skin dehydrates, it needs moisturisation in summers. Also hot winds and ultra violet rays make our skin dry and blemished.
"Water really works wonders for your skin. One needs to follow a healthy regime especially in summers. Splash water on your face as it keeps dirt away. Steam face regularly to release dirt. Pat dry with tissue and moisturise. Moisturisers seal in the water and helps skin to hold the moisture better," says make up specialist Meher Kolah.
Elaborating on the skin care she says, "We heavily lose water from our body in the form of sweat in summers. One needs to fulfill the required amount of water. And water works better when you eat right. One should normally avoid oily food and eat lots of salads and fruits so that toxins are flushed out and body system remains clean."
Make-up in Summers
You need to go out and your make-up runs away, with sweat. Isn't it irritating? Make-up during summers is a big problem, as it runs away or is wiped off. "Less is more. Put on a minimum makeup and just a hint of translucent powder to get a matte and even look. But if you do want to add a dash of glam and your skin is dry, try creams that give a dewy effect. This hydrates the skin and adds a glow," suggests make up specialist Ambika Pillai.
She further says, "Soft colours like pink and green can be used on eyes. You can also use eyeliner in different colours. Opt for clear mascara instead of a black one, as it will give you an open eye look. Lip colours in flesh shades look lovely and youthful."
Agrees Meher, "Sweat takes away all your make up and leaves your face oily. But there is a solution to this problem.
"These days cosmetic companies know the need of today's women and that is why they are launching water-based products with sunscreens and moisturisers that improve your skin texture and polish it at the same time.
"These products come for all skin types. This makes make up in summers easy and safe." So expand your wings and fly carefree under the beautiful blue sky in this summer.
