St Xavier?s wins inter-school carol contest

ST THERESA?S Girls? School hosted the VIII Inter-School Carol Singing Competition on Wednesday in the school premises. Nine prominent schools of the City participated. Teams vied with each other in presenting their carols, each one ushering in the Christmas spirit with gaiety and joy.

ST THERESA’S Girls’ School hosted the VIII Inter-School Carol Singing Competition on Wednesday in the school premises. Nine prominent schools of the City participated. Teams vied with each other in presenting their carols, each one ushering in the Christmas spirit with gaiety and joy.

The first prize in the seniors’ group was bagged by St Xavier’s S S School, BHEL, followed by Carmel Convent S S School, BHEL bagging the second prize and St Mary’s Convent S S School bagging the third prize.

In the juniors’ category, Carmel Convent SS School, BHEL bagged the first prize, whereas St Xaviers’ SS School came second and Carmel Co-Ed S S School, Ratanpur were third.

Chief guest on the occasion was Fr. Godwin Viegas SVD Professor at Christ Premalalay from Mangalore, Fr Bruno D’Costa SVD was the special invitee. Judges for the day were Father AV Chinna SVD and Bro Gabby D’Souza SFX, renowned musicians from Chennai and Goa respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest conveyed his message about how god cares and listens to our prayers. He also said we should not be afraid of anything but have trust in God.
