The Delhi-Bangkok, Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Kolkata, Kolkata-Guwahati and Kolkata-Jaipur flights were among those cancelled.

The staffers refused to call off the strike even after the Delhi High Court on Wednesday termed it "illegal".

They vowed to continue the stir that started on Tuesday night until their demands over pay and promotions are met.

"We are not scared by the high court or management decision of calling the strike 'illegal'. We will continue the protest," vowed JK Badola, general secretary of the Air Corporation Employees Union (ACEU).

The strike by the ground staff and cabin crew left thousands stranded at airports with flights getting delayed or cancelled.
