PREPARATIONS ARE in full swing for Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav’s visit for distribution of cheques under Kanya Vidya Dhan and Unemployment Allowance schemes in Varanasi on Thursday.
A vast pandal has been erected on a ground near Babatpur Airport about 25 Kilometers from Varanasi town for the cheque distribution ceremony. The ceremony would cost over Rs 1 crore excluding transportation charges (for transporation of the beneficaries).
Cheques amounting to Rs 31 crore will be distributed among 37,000 beneficiaries under Kanya Vidya Dhan and Unemployment Allowance schemes in Varanasi and Chandauli districts during the function.
In Varanasi, around 6,032 females under Kanya Vidya Dhan scheme and 18,653 youths under Unemployment Allowance Scheme will get cheques during the function.
Similarly in Chandauli district, 7,253 youths under Unemployment Allowance scheme and 4,637 girls under Kanya Vidya Dhan scheme will get cheques during the function.
Around 60 youths under both the schemes of Varanasi and Chanduli districts will be called on the stage during cheque distribution ceremony whereas remaining beneficiaries will get cheques at their sitting place.
Meanwhile, an exhibition depicting the personality of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia and development works of the present State Government during last three yeas has also been inaugurated here at the venue of cheque distribution ceremony on Wednesday. The exhibition has been organised under the auspices of Information and Public Relations department.
