Normal working in the Education department remained affected and the employees continued boycott of their duties to mount pressure on the district administration to arrest the accused teachers for manhandling the joint director.

Expressing his views at a dharna staged by employees, vice president of the State Employees Association Dr Brij Lal Tiwari said the employees would not compromise on this issue, as it would boost the morale of teachers who had criminal links. He threatened to step up the agitation if the accused teachers were not be arrested within two days. Joint secretary Shrinath Gupta, Anil Kumar Srivastav, Narendra Bahadur Singh, IA Ahrari and many others said teachers’ body should apologise for their action.

Meanwhile, state president of Primary Teachers’ Association Abhimanyu Tiwari claimed that insensitive attitude of the joint director in resolving the long-pending demands of the teachers community was responsible for the incident.
Talking to mediapersons Tiwari demanded that harassment of teachers and police raid at their houses should be stopped immediately otherwise all the MLCs of Sharma group along with other teachers would court arrest in protest.
Recalling the statement of Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, Tiwari said the CM had exhorted teachers’ community to come forward to launch a battle against corruption in the education department.
Lauding the action of teachers, Tiwari said it was only the beginning of the battle against corruption and the teachers community was ready to go ahead.
He said the Education department employees should join their duties to avoid confrontation.
