Affirming that state governments should not be driven by an individual, Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said governance should ensure Public Private Participation for transparency and overall development.
"We have to ensure PPP for a transparent government for overall development. But it (government) should not be driven by an individual", he said at an interactive meet with Tamil Nadu businessmen titled 'Gujarat:The Global Business Hub' here," A state should be driven by policy, he said, adding there would be minimum grey area and no scope for any discrimination if this was done".
He said another priority area for governments should be education.
"Our government has been encouraging the private sector to set up professional education institutions to give better education to all people", he said.
Modi, heading a high-level delegation from Gujarat, said governments should prepare a good road map to develop human resources to immediately provide more manpower to investors setting up units in their respective regions.
The delegation interacted with business groups,institutions and organisations here, seeking their participation in the 'Vibrant Gujarat 2011 summit to be held in that state from January 12, 2011.
Modi said his delegation would approve within four hours any 'good and viable' proposal given by the business community in Tamil Nadu to invest in Gujarat.
The chief minister also said his government planned to set up 30 Special Investment Region to provide more incentives to attract not only domestic investors, but also foreign companies.
