State sports hostel wrestlers shine

THE WRESTLERS of State sports hostel today dominated the Bashir Pehalwan Memorial Sher-e-Bhopal Akhada (wrestling) competition organised at Rajiv Gandhi Wrestling Centre, Kilol Park.

THE WRESTLERS of State sports hostel today dominated the Bashir Pehalwan Memorial Sher-e-Bhopal Akhada (wrestling) competition organised at Rajiv Gandhi Wrestling Centre, Kilol Park.

In all, 50 wrestlers from Sehore, Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Hoshangabad participated in the competition. The wrestling match between Neelesh Malviya of state sports hostel and Mukul of Ratibad proved that there was no dearth of talent in the State.

Both wrestlers entertained spectators with their wrestling skills. But Neelesh through his excellent training register defeated his opponent. Other winners of the competition included Rahul, Vinod Malviya, Vinod Chaudhary, Govind Yadav, Ansari and Akram.

MP Council of Sports vice-chairman Om Yadav distributed prizes to the winners. Earlier, BMC Chairman Ramdayal Prajapati inaugurated the competition. The organising committee felicitated BMC in-charge Munavvar Ali.

On the occasion, organising committee coordinator Shakir Noor and others were present. Ramdaya Prajapati and Munavvar Ali announced Rs 50,000 each for the improvement of Rajiv Gandhi Akhada Training Centre. Both assured every possible support for the wrestling in the State. Om Yadav would provide equipment for the centre.
