IN A bid to draw attention of the State Government towards the non-fulfillment of their long-pending demands, officers and employees of the State would take out a rally here on March 10.
A confederation of various employees’ association has already intimated the State Government about the same and it appears that the Government is not serious to solve the demands of the employees, said MP Gazetted Officers Association president Dr R D Mishra.
Addressing a press conference here today, Dr Mishra said it was unfortunate that State Government was not redressing employees’ grievances. Employees and officers from various parts of the State would participate in the proposed rally, he added.
MP Class III Government Employees Association president Mahendra Sharma and Dr Mishra further said that it was regrettable that despite significant improvement in financial condition of the State, the Government was not prepared to accept the employees’ demands.
“Since the State Government is not regularly providing benefit of increased dearness allowance to its employees, the actual income of the employees had reduced considerably and they are finding it difficult to meet increasing expenses, particularly in the wake of soaring price of petro products and increase in clearing various other taxes,” they added.
The main demands of the employees included payment of all pending installment of DA, abolition of professional tax, merging 50 per cent of DA in basic pay on the lines of Central Government, simplification of the procedure to give employment on compassionate grounds, removal of the pay anomalies and to held discussions with the unions to resolve the long-pending demands.
