C. J. Ashokan, the Station Master at the Mahalakhsmi Railway Station, where the accidental death of Nadia Khan took place, has filed a petition for anticipatory bail. Ashokan, who had been absconding for the last two days, surfaced last evening only to have his lawyer file the petition.

The police had been trying to locate Ashokan for interrogation in the case since he was on duty at the time of the accident. Ashokan however, failed to inform the authorities about the accident and then went underground fearing repurcussions. The case comes up at 11 am today.
